Transplant Surgery Executives

The Vanguard Committee of the division of Transplantation was established in 2018.

The main objective of the Committee is to involve young transplant surgeons in the Division of transplantation and use their ideas and energy to help improve the standard of care in organ transplantation in Europe by adapting to new and emerging ideas and technologies, and to ensure the continuity of the Division by attracting new members. The Vanguard committee shall achieve its objectives by proposing and executing new ideas to the Division.

The goal of the Vanguard Committee of the UEMS Transplant Surgery division is to utilize the drive and innovative ideas of young and enthusiastic transplant surgeons to increase the value and scope of the UEMS Transplant Surgery examination and certification throughout Europe.

The committee’s membership is comprised by any transplant surgeon that has obtained the title of FEBS and is <45 yrs old, and has a special interest to work within the UEMS Division of Transplant Surgery.

The Committee has a Chair and Vice Chair, and two representatives of the Division’s Working Groups

The Committee communicates with the Divisional representatives for the Vanguard Committee (Nicos Kessaris, Waldo Concepcion, Derek Manas)
