The UEMS Transplant Medicine Ambassadorship Program seeks to promote excellence in transplant medicine by increasing visibility, awareness, and participation in the UEMS Transplant Medicine European Exam. Through strategic outreach, education, and engagement with professional communities, the program will foster a culture of certification and lifelong learning among transplant professionals across Europe and beyond.
Purpose
The primary objective of the UEMS Transplant Medicine Ambassadorship is to promote the UEMS European Board of Transplant Medicine Examination as a standard of excellence in transplant medicine. Ambassadors will engage with national transplant societies, academic institutions, and healthcare professionals to: Raise awareness of the exam and its value. Encourage registration and preparation among eligible candidates. Provide educational support and guidance for exam candidates. Strengthen the academic recognition of transplant medicine as a subspecialty.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates for the UEMS Transplant Medicine Ambassadorship should fulfill the following:
active involvement in transplant medicine with UEMS Transplant Medicine Exam or Honorary Certificate.
minimum of 5 years of experience in transplantation (clinical, academic, or research) in UEMS and non-UEMS countires
active member of a relevant national transplant society.
proficiency in English (mandatory)
demonstrated interest in medical education, certification, and policy in healthcare.
access to digital tools for communication and event organization.
Roles and Responsibilities
Exam Promotion Promote the UEMS Transplant Medicine Exam through lectures, webinars, and national society meetings.
Share promotional materials (slides, posters, social media content) across platforms and at relevant events.
Educational Outreach Organize preparatory workshops or Q&A sessions in collaboration with national societies.
Share information about exam format, content, and benefits with potential candidates.
Institutional Engagement Liaise with residency/fellowship directors to integrate exam promotion into training programs.
Advocate for institutional support of the exam as part of transplant fellowship curricula.
Promote collaboration with European transplant societies and other related organizations.
Meeting Participation Ambasadors are encouraged to participate in UEMS Transplant Medicine Board meetings at least four times a year.
Reporting and Feedback Provide biannual reports summarizing outreach activities, candidate feedback, and local engagement outcomes. Including performance indicators (e.g., number of presentations given, workshops organized, candidates encouraged to register).
Contribute to continuous improvement of the exam based on insights from candidates and institutions.
Term and Commitment
Duration: 4-year term, renewable based on activity and impact. Time Commitment: Estimated 3–5 hours/month, with flexibility depending on event cycles. Support: Ambassadors will receive access to promotional toolkits, presentation templates, and administrative support
