The UEMS Transplant Surgery division has just run a face-to-face examination session on the 28th of August, one day before the ESOT Congress 2021 in Milan, Italy.

The next examination will take place fully online on 2 December 2021, and will be reserved to the candidates who could not attend to the examination in August 2021.

Applications for this online examination from new candidates are not possible.
The next EBSQ Examination open to any candidate will take place in 2022.

Certification can be obtained for the following separate modules:

• Multi-organ retrieval
• Kidney transplantation
• Pancreas transplantation
• Liver transplantation

The Certification of the European Board of Surgery Qualification (Transplantation) is obtained on Passing Part I (Eligibility) and Part II (Examination). A candidate can be accredited for one or more modules.

Requirements

To obtain accreditation for any of modules 2, 3 or 4, it is mandatory to obtain accreditation in module 1 as well. Thus, any candidate who pass only one or more module(s) of modules 2, 3 or 4 in a session won’t be certified until they pass module 1.

As an exception, in case of exceptional experience in modules 2, 3, or 4, some requirements for accreditation for module 1 may be waived. The decision to waive these requirements will be taken by the Executive Committee.

Examination fees

The fees for the EBSQ diploma in transplant surgery are divided as follows:
– Eligibility fee of 300 euros, non refundable if the candidate is not eligible, and
– Examination fee of 100 euro per module

The eligibility fee is to be paid when the candidate register for the certification.
The examination fees for the modules should be paid once the eligibility of the candidate has been confirmed, to finalise the registration of the candidate for the examination.
